About Me

Lesley Nimmo

Certified Life Coach & Personal Development Mentor

Throughout most of my adult life, I've had a curiosity and strong interest in mental health and physical well-being. This inclination likely stemmed from my upbringing in a profoundly dysfunctional and abusive family environment during my childhood. Consequently, I've felt a strong need to better understand myself and the traumatic experiences I've endured, a journey that continues to this day. My aim has always been to heal and liberate myself from the grip of the past.

This deep-seated passion for mental well-being initially led me to become a Life Coach in 2008. My focus then centered on fostering positivity, motivation, drive, and success, skills I successfully applied in establishing and managing a thriving Recruitment and Career Coaching company for 18 years.

However, upon reaching the age of 50, I found myself disconnected from the life I had built. With my daughter having moved to London, I grappled with the reality of being an empty-nester, leading to feelings of depression and aimlessness. Additionally, the onset of menopause brought its own set of challenges, including hot flashes, weight gain, insomnia, and heightened depression. Though I still enjoyed career coaching, my interest in recruitment had waned. I felt adrift.

On a spontaneous whim, I decided to pursue formal training as a Culinary Chef. Cooking and baking had always been passions of mine, but little did I know that this decision would mark the beginning of an entirely new chapter in my life. After qualifying in 2020, I further specialised as a Vegan Chef.

At this juncture, I made the bold decision to overhaul my entire life. I shut my Recruitment business and relocated from South Africa to London, embarking on an exhilarating journey as a Private Chef. Along the way, I had the privilege of cooking for numerous remarkable individuals, including several ultra-high net worth families and a well-known celebrity. Concurrently, I pursued additional qualifications, becoming a Certified Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach while also revisiting my Life Coaching Diploma.

And now, this is where our paths intersect. As a Life Coach navigating midlife, I bring to the table a profound passion for people and their well-being. Drawing upon my extensive background in business, career coaching, mental wellness, health, fitness, nutrition, intentional living, mindfulness, manifestation, and spirituality, I am committed to helping you achieve both your personal and professional aspirations.

What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a collaborative process between a trained professional, known as a life coach, and a client, aimed at achieving personal or professional goals, overcoming obstacles, and enhancing overall well-being. Unlike therapy, it primarily focuses on the present and future, utilising techniques such as asking powerful questions, active listening, goal setting, and accountability to help clients clarify their goals, identify obstacles, and create actionable plans. Covering areas like career development, midlife, health, and personal growth, life coaching empowers clients to make positive changes, unlock their potential, and achieve greater fulfilment in life.
